Tip: If you see an error that says the Microsoft Office installer.pkg can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer, wait 10 seconds and move the downloaded file to your desktop. Hold Control + click the file to launch the installer.

For those accounts that are eligible for the downloadable Office suite with their @usc.edu account, the Microsoft Office Suite Setup installation software is available from the Microsoft Office Portal.
Apache's site implies that OO can be used above OSX 10.7 without any details. However it does warn that it's not being downloaded from the App Store it may fall foul of Gatekeeper. Your PennO365 password is identical to your PennKey password (though it is a discrete password). From the Microsoft portal, you'll be able to download Office365 ProPlus applications and to log into Office Online and OneDrive.
Although you cannot install Office 365 ProPlus applications on a University managed work or public computer, you can log into PennO365 and access Office Online through the local web browser. You will not be able to install Office 365 ProPlus or sync locally saved files to OneDrive. However, you can download or upload locally saved files to OneDrive via your web browser.
After your account expires, you will not be able to install or use new instances of O365 or use Office Online and OneDrive and installed applications will enter reduced functionality mode. This means you will be able to view and print documents stored on personal computers or devices, but will be unable to create/save/edit files. You will not lose any documents created and stored locally on your personal computers or devices. Documents saved on OneDrive will NOT be accessible after you graduate or leave Penn and must be downloaded and saved locally before your PennO365 account expires.
After your PennO365 account expires, you will no longer be able to access OneDrive or the documents saved there. Make sure you download your documents from OneDrive within 60 days of your graduation date or last day at Penn. Like the Microsoft Office Home & Student license, the Microsoft Office Professional license is a one-time purchase for a single download of Microsoft's apps. This purchase includes desktop versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Publisher, and Access.
Staff or studentThe offer is open to current students on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Sussex. Staff employed by the University are also eligible to download Office for personally-owned computers and use the free OneDrive storage space.
Transferring Microsoft Office to a new computer is simplified greatly by the ability to download the software from the Office website directly to the new desktop or laptop. New variations of the popular programs, such as an Office 365 subscription, make the software available across multiple devices while maintaining desktop accessibility. To get started, all you need is an internet connection and a Microsoft account or product key.
To download the programs to your computer, log in to your account at www.setup.office.com and choose an installer for your new PC or Mac. When the download is complete, click on the downloads folder on your computer and launch the installer. Log in to your Office 365 account when prompted to do so. If you use OneDrive with your Office 365 subscription, launch the OneDrive application and click the "Sync" button on the tool bar to ensure all your files are available on your new device as well as in the cloud.
If you purchased Microsoft Office at a store or through an online retailer, you received a product key either on a card or an email download. This key is used to activate the programs through the use of the Office website at www.setup.office.com. When you are transferring an existing program suite from one computer to the next, you log in using the Microsoft account created when the programs were first activated. They remain attached to the Microsoft account if you are installing Office 2016 or above.
From your account, you can download the Office programs and run the install guide, which requires entering your username and password again followed by a short validation check, to maintain access on your computer whether online or off. A best practice is to uninstall your Office programs from an older computer before starting a new install, as some variations of the program allow installation on only a limited number of devices.
Some older versions of Office, such as Microsoft Office 2007, 2010 and 2013 were sold as downloads with product key activations. If you have one of these sets, the programs remain available for new downloads at www.products.office.com/en-us/previous-versions-of-office and can be activated using your original product key. Microsoft 365 is available to all current students, faculty and staff at Binghamton University. This software is free of charge and is available for download on personal computers and devices.
